Happy 2007! One question - what happened to 2006? I guess it's true what they say, "time flies when you are having fun" and as you know we are always having fun at Starner's Dam! We had a blast over the holidays with family and friends. Thanksgiving was hosted at Starner's Dam this year. It was nice being with family and enjoying good food. Christmas came quickly. We did some cookie baking this year which for the most part went smoothly. The Saturday before Christmas we had a party for family and friends in our new outbuilding/pool hall/rock-n-roll venue. Our new hang-out area has been named the "River Dogz Saloon" in honor of our river and our pups, Koko and Marley. We even had a sign created for the event. Hopefully a picture will be up soon on the website. Christmas was extra-special this year as Heidi, Rob, Christopher and Meghan visited from Ft. Benning, Georgia. It just all went by too fast. So far we are having mild winter this year (which is just fine) so no snow yet. Still have some time to go before spring. Our best to eveyone. We wish for you in 2007 that you will be safe, enjoy life and remember, at Starner's Dam, "it ain't fishing, it's cathing!" Starner's Dam Gang Tim, Anita, Alissa and "The Zoo"

Welcome to our website. This site was created for family and friends and to honor our historical homesite located near Starner's Dam. This wonderful homestead came into our possession in 1999. At that time we could not fully appreciate the beauty and history which is called "Starner's Dam". Our knowledge is limited about this dam and the history behind it. We do have Deeds (some original) all the way back to April 15, 1801 when the property, including "an old fish dam" and "old mill house" was deeded from John and Catherine Myers of Adams County, PA to Peter Shellhouse of Frederick County, Maryland for the royal sum of 1200 pounds. If anyone can contribute to our knowledge of this place, including historical data, personal stories or even how Starner's Dam came to be known as such, please contact us via email. We would appreciate any information. Be sure and check out the picture section. We hope you enjoy the site!
